Taking a Break

This picture undoubtedly gives a clue as to what’s been taking me away from weaving and knitting the last couple of days.  Each of the boxes contains 20 pounds of fruit:  Bosc pairs (80 lbs.) and Granny Smith apples (40 lbs.).  Thor estimated I will need 54 pint jars.  I have three unopened flats (to the left of the boxes), and one opened flat.  That’s fewer than four dozen, so I’m concerned I will not have enough jars.  Tomorrow I may be dumping beans and pastas out of large canning jars serving as storage jars in the kitchen cabinets.

I’ve got a glove almost finished and a warp half completed.  I hope to finish them this weekend in between putting up fruit.  I guess it’s evident what my friends will be getting for birthday presents this year.
