Several years ago I started to write a murder mystery. A few months ago when cleaning out papers I came across my unfinished manuscript. Thor encouraged me to finish it, and this week I finally went back to it! I’ve learned a few things other aspiring novelists may find useful. 🙂
First, stop early enough in the evening and let your mind unwind so you can sleep without pharmaceutical assistance.
Second, do not – and I repeat, do not – work out the various murder scenarios with your significant other as you two are, for instance, cosily eating freshly made Arkansas Black apple pie in the kitchen or drifting off to sleep under the fluffy comforter. (I had no idea that would bother dear Thor’s sleep!)
Lastly, don’t tell your therapist you’ve learned it’s easy to commit murder. She might take it the wrong way!
On another note, in skeins the yarn for my latest knitting project looked great! Finished was another story. Tomorrow I will take before and after pictures to post and share!
