Knitting in the Dark

I have knitted in the dark before. Several years ago when I was rushing to finish a sweater in time for a birthday, I took it with me to a couple of plays and knit (as quietly as I could) as I watched the play. It irritated the people I was with who thought I could not follow a play and knit simultaneously. (??!!) I haven’t done it since – at least until today!

This afternoon I’ve been struggling with a blinding headache, and nothing I do seems to help. So I put on some Bill Evans, turned off the lights, and have been knitting a gauge swatch (the Donegal Tweed was calling my name), using a simple straight stitch.

I still have a headache, but now I also have a gauge swatch!
